Defamation case on the act which took place a year back

Can I file a defamation case on someone now who slapped on my face which resulted the breakdown of my specticals and caused a damage to my reputation in the college which took place 11months back?

a criminal complaimt should have been filed with in 30 days for an offence such as defamation. also slapping is not defamation unless your reputation has been damaged by verbal abuse coupled with slapping. much time has been passed in your case and so courts might not entertain your complaint
