Can I put a case against my girlfriend who cheated on me?

28-Dec-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Hi, This is . I got into a relationship with a girl 6 months ago. She was not happy in her existing relationship and started getting feelings for me. I too fell in love and she promised we are going to get married soon. But from last 2 months she again went back to the old relationship and kept me in lies. Later I found that that I'm not the only victim, she did the same thing many others before. So, I want to put a case against her so I can give her a lesson by exposing her character to her family without getting trapped in false charges which she can put later on.

Do not hesitate to file a complaint in the Court of Magistrate, as the police may be reluctant to accept it. The court will instruct the police to file a FIR, conduct an investigation, bring in the accused and file a charge sheet. The court will punish the defendant after trial. Cheating is punishable by up to 3 years in prison.
