The PoSH Act was introduced to prevent and protect women from sexual harassment at workplace, thereby ensuring a safe working environment for women.
The PoSH Act as a mandatory compliance requires every company having more than ten employees to set up an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in a prescribed manner to receive and deal with complaints of any kind of sexual harassment against women in a confidential manner.
The person who can file a complaint must be a woman, the PoSH Act is not gender neutral.
