Scanning old books and uploading on my blog

I purchased a book from Amazon 5 years ago. Now I start a blog and write the synopsis of the book in my own words without copying from anywhere. I also scanned that book & uploaded in my Google Drive storage. Will sharing the link of that scanned book in my blog so that my blog readers can download them, along with the synopsis (written by me) is illegal and infringes copyright of authors. If yes, please tell me amount of charges I need to pay if I get penalized.
