To what Extent I can claim against the false claim ?

27-Feb-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)

I recently purchase a mobile handset from a reputed Indian company and they have mentioned a specification in bold letters in the box but that claim is totally false. There is no such function supported in the device and I think it is clearly a case of fraud where a customer is being misled by a false claim.I am student of business and I wanted to know what can be done and to what extent I can sue the company.Although I have contacted the company about the issue and they said, they will revert back to me. Can I directly ask for compensation from company or I need to follow some legal protocol?

You can make a written complaint to the company about the false representation about the specifications of the product and ask for a refund. If they don’t response to your complain then you can send a legal notice to the company's concerned department. As a last resort you can lodge a complaint before jurisdictional consumer disputes redressal forum for refund and damages.
