Regarding PhD through a off campus study centre

25-Apr-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
I started pursuing Ph D from Directorate of Distance Education, Dravidian University in 2008-09. I submitted my Ph D Thesis in july 2014, and paid all the dues and fee of university and study centre (off campus study centre). But till date the study centre owner has not met the university requirement of Ph D guide verification. I have requested him several times and now he is not picking up my phone since last three months. Kindly advice how to deal with him as guide is his relative and donot interact with me after the submission of the thesis.

Off campus studies are regulated by the UGC and IGNOU. If the institution has obtained necessary permission for off campus studies then only it is possible to conduct any off campus course. Besides, other preconditions for PhD are also to be followed.

Write a representation to the vice chancellor of the university, Education department of the Gov. of Andhra Pradesh and your phd guide raising all your grievances. Most probably your grievance would be solved at that level. However, if not you may file a writ petition before high court

Hello,
For the query you posted, I would suggest the following:

You can always file a complaint against such conduct of the entrepreneur of that university and get a relief accordingly.

Though a lot depends on the facts of your case.

I hope that answers your query.
