Purchased Pre-owned item, later found faulty, what steps can be taken?

10-May-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
Hello,I recently purchased a item on the site "Olx" where people sell their owned items.I was assured by the seller than the item,a hard disk was working well,so I did not check it.The person did not give me the bill and I did not mind as the item was a preowned, used item. However when I went home and checked it,it was not working.Upon calling the seller,he instead of listening to me,threatened me that should I call him again it will not be good for me and said that he will block my number. What can I do in such a situation?

you can make a police complaint, or give a legal notice to the said person.
Moreover i would suggest you to record the conversation of the person.

you can file a case of cheating against him as it is a clear cut case of cheating..
plz take screenshot or print of that ad if it is possible...to prove your case
first make a complaint to the police and if the police is not taking any action then in the court

as u mentioned that you did not check the hard disk at the time of buying, then the seller will presume that you accepted it without mentioning any problem or glitches. Now if you say that the seller has given you a non working hard disk is hard to believe or you have anything to show that he gave you a non working disk.
