Mortgage deed missing in list of docs while booking flat

Hi... I am planning to purchase a flat in Bangalore . I have taken the documents related to that to a lawyer. He scrutinized and said that one of the mortgage document ( happened 50 years back ) is missing. I checked with builder who said that he has not got that doc from previous owner . I like the flat but am in a dilemma whether to buy because of this missing mortgage related document... any sugsn pls ?
