Insurance policy sold with false information by third party broker.
18-May-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
I have been sold an insurance policy by a third party broker with false information. We were told the free look out period is for 45 days from the receipt of the bond papers but in reality it is 15 days only. Now they won't let us cancel our policy. We have been dealing with them since 2 months. We only have call recordings and wats app messages as proof. We want to get our money back please help.
When an agent of Insurance company sells the policy on the basis of false promises then in such cases the buyer of the policy can file a complaint against the Insurance company seeking redressal to his hrievances. In this respect the policyholder may approach the consumer forums for seeking redressal to his grievances.
Dear querist,
In such scenario, the legal recourse for you is to first send them a legal notice which might suffice your requirement and you may get your money. If this dont work, then you can file a consumer complaint on that basis. You have other option also which is filing a complaint to the ombudsman which must have been designated for the company. You can have your money back alongwith compensation.
