Institute claimed UGC & AIU accreditation at the time of admission

I did my PGDM from Asia Pacific Institute of Management, Delhi. In the advertisements as well as admission letter, we were told that the institute is accredited by the AIU, but that is not the case; and now i am unable to pursue a PhD because of the same . I have paid a fee of around Rs. 8 lakh for the PGDM course. What legal action can be taken against the institute ?
Since the college misrepresented to you that the institute is accredited by the AIU and on that basis candidates took admission in the said institute, you can file a case against the institute and claim damages and compensation for loss suffered by you.

With respect to you query, you can first send a legal Notice to the college and the move to the Consumer Court for relief, you can also move to the concerned High Court to get relief for yourself. A criminal complaint can also be filed with the nearest police station against the College.

I would advise you to file a consumer complaint before the concerned Court at the earliest possible and seek refund of the fee, compensation for mental harassment and deceit on account of unfair trade practice.
