How to get Refund of fee due to shutting down of college

08-Nov-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
I am studying a 3 yr Bachelors in Interior Design at Raffles Millennium International, Koramangala. I am currently in 2nd year (3 months in). The college has run into financial troubles since September and has not paid the rent, electricity and water bills. They tricked us saying they were postponing reopening due to 'maintenance issue'. But we found out that was false from the building manager. Now they are telling us that they are shutting down. Our options might be to shift to Mumbai or Singapore campus. But many of us want a refund of fees and quit. But given the situation, we are not hopeful that they will give our money back. How to make sure they pay up? The amount in rather large which is why I'm looking for an opinion. Also, they have been fooling us for 3 months and now the head, sitting at Singapore, refuses to come down here and meet us, or send an official email regarding the same. Apparently he keeps saying a final decision will be made 'tomorrow' but we're waiting.

Send a legal notice. If they do not respond or fail to come up with proper solution file a complaint before the District Consumer redressal forum for an expeditious remedy. You will get a full refund along with some interest and compensation. Feel free to contact for any legal assistance
