How to deal with internet provider threatening to take legal action

10-Jun-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
I had taken an internet connection from tikona broadband service. I started experiencing connectivity problems since January so I asked for a disconnection by the end of January. But didn't get any response so I mailed to customer care on Feb 13 2017. Again no action.. Different staff called me and I asked them to disconnect internet service. No action again. They continued generating bills and by the end of may they started threatening me to take legal action. Now they have registered my disconnection on 8 Jun 2017 and are telling that I have to pay amount till the date of registration for disconnection or they will take a legal action. I am asked to pay for their negligence and delay. Kindly suggest what could be done.

They all do the same tactic to extract illegal money from customers. I suggest to you that you first get a legal notice issued to them through an advocate for poor service, deficiency in service and delay in attending to your demand for disconnection and claim for damages. Keep the copy of notice and its reciept as proof. Dont ever go by calls and e mails.
