Denial of claim by Mobile Insurance Company against breakage

Hello, I purchased Redmi Note 4 mobile handset online from MI.com website. Along with that, I purchased Mobile Protection Plan from the same website. The protection plan is meant to safeguard against breakage and thefts for 1 year. Unfortunately, recently my phone fell at Metro station. I applied for a claim under Protection plan which I purchased from MI website but offered by One Assist company. I submitted my phone at One Assist and they denied the claim saying the IMEI no of my phone is changed. They told that IMEI number was changed by MI service center when you I had gone for some mobile repair long ago and as per terms & conditions, change in IMEI number has to be reported within 2 days. (Yes, I had got my phone repaired but I was not told about change in IMEI number by anybody in the service center). Now, neither MI is replying nor One Assist is responding. As a consumer, I am feeling cheated. I want the justice of purchasing insurance plan.
It's a consumer complaint. We need to send legal notice to the company and file a suit against them. As it was not informed to you about the IM number and wasn't out rightly clear which you could miss
It happens many times when consumers feel cheated. you should collect all the receipts and file a complaint in district consumer forum. Make sure you make both companies party in it. insurance company as well as the repairing centre.
