Damage claim against hotel for severe injury due to lift fall down

I was attending a meeting from my company in a hotel in Kolkata on 5-Sept-2015, during lunch time I took a lift from the 5th floor where the banquet hall is situated. While going down in the lift, the lift fell down from 5th floor to 1st floor and I was badly injured with multi-ligament torn. It's was a automatic lift!! I had to go for a major multi-ligament construction surgery and still not recovered as it will take 8 weeks to start light walking post surgery on 22-Sept-2015. I have been suffering like anything. I want to sue the hotel and want to claim damage from them. Please suggest.
You can send a notice to the Hotel through a lawyer thereby claiming damages if they fail to reply you can file a case before the Hon'ble Court thereby seeking cancellation of the Hotels license on the ground that it is unsafe for the customer
