Cell plan changed without consent-Legal notice sent to me by Vodafone

16-Nov-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
Hello, Recently my cell phone plan was changed by Vodafone without my consent. My plan had a rental of Rs. 55 per month and it is a very old plan and i made the monthly payments regularly. All of suddenly the plan got changed to 299 Rs. per month. When i called the customer care, they said we intimated you by a SMS. As i am not using this number since some time now i have not received any SMS and i informed them that why an email was not sent for such an important communication. Vodafone is not willing to accept it and are forcing me to pay by calling daily. I asked them to cancel the service. Now they have sent me a legal notice to make the payment. Please let me know what are my options here. Can they change the plan just by sending SMS and can they force me to pay by legal threat? I am in Karnataka and the plan is of Mumbai. Is there a way i can fight this from the place where i reside. What if i reply to the notice with the reason? Kindly advice. Regards, Shailesh Shah

absolutely , you must reply the notice and contest the case and inform about the future actions against them , they cannot arbitarily act against and change the terms ,.they must take consent of you before proceeding and changing plans

You can file a consumer complaint firstly reply to the said notice and also tell them you are going to consumer court seeking for damages for unfair trade practice... Unless you reply to notice there cannot be any remedy available for you..

please ensure to reply to the legal notice otherwise they may cancel your number permanently.. even though they are in huge loss Currently, their Network is as bad. please write it to them that you are paying the money strictly without prejudice to your right and contentions to file necessary complaint before the district and / or state consumer forum

Sir, you have to reply to that particular notice through an advocate. the vodafone is giving worast service to the customer. I am also aggrieved person from that Vodafone service. Nothing happened, give reply notice, if they file case then contest the matter without hesitate and you can ask counter claim in the form of compensation in the case. Just narrate your grievience in the reply notice. without customer consent they cannot change their plan, or at least they have to send proper communication to the customers. let them learn from this incident. for Further information kimdly contact. Please provide Vodafone address so that I can issue legal notice to Vodafone for my grievience.
