Can I file for refund fro indian railways for delay in train

I missed new delhi mumbai rajdhani from new delhi due to late arrival of shatabdi from chandigarh. I have to go by flight next day. There is no provision of refund also. As there is deficiency in service, Can I claim compensation for my air fare as well as mental harassment.

If you have not traveled in the train due to the delay (should be more than 3 hours before you can claim anything),then yes, you will get a full refund.

But if you have an e-ticket., you should have filed a TDR request before the actual departure of train. If you file TDR after departure, or if you cancel ticket before 3 hours of delay, then you have no chance buddy. You will not get even a single penny.

What that essentially means is Railways wants you not to worry about which train you are going to board next (as you have already missed one train and you are late by 3 hours already) , but you should be busy filling TDR. (
