Can consumer court order builder to give possession to the customers

I had booked flat 3 years ( march -2013) back Area 318 sq feet price Rs 1176000 (eleven lakhs seventy six thousand) sale agreement value in panvel .The sale agreement made on 22 feb-2014, and being registered in registrar office panvel builder had not mention date of possession sale agreement builder had completed 80 % work and stop the work i had paid Rs 993000( 80 % amount) builder delaying the possession can i get order from consumer court to direct the builder to complete the project in stipulated time what are the varios option

You can certainly approach the consumer forum for directions to the builder to complete the flat and to hand over the possession to you. Though the builder has not mentioned the date of possession, he has to complete the project within reasonable time.

Depending on the clauses of the agreement which needs to be peruse, you can issue legal notice thru advocate and thereafter file a case in consumer forum. Yes the consumer forum can order the builder to give possession in stipulated time. It can also award you compensation by ordering builder to pay you the same for delay caused in handing over possession. In alternative you can also ask for relief of refund of amount with interest along with compensation from builder.
