How to prove to my potential inlaws that i have never been married

12-Sep-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hi, am a single mother of a 5year old daughter. I was never married I was into a live in relation as my Bf fooled me about marriage but never did he get married to me. I am separated and not staying with him anymore since 2years Now. I have moved on and wish to settle my life. Met this guy and he wishes to marry me we both are Roman Catholic and he wishes to accept my daughter as his own. His family Are saying unless I don't show them the divorce papers they won't get me married I told them am not married but they don't wish to believe. Apart from divorce what is the other alternative that I can present in order to proceed further with the marriage? He is willing g to adopt my child also Please tell me what can I do in this situation. Awaiting for a positive response. Thankyou

Anything that is stated in an affidavit is believed to have been said on oath and if a person goes back on his or her statement then would be liable for perjury so you can make an affidavit and give it to them and tell them that you would not take such a risk. Apart from this you can also make a declaration in court under section 34 of Specific Relief Act.
