Dear Sir/Mam
As you shared about your query.
You can seek the permission from the court by filing an application under order 8 rule 1A read with section 151 Civil procedure code and in which you will have to mention the reason for filling those documents after completion of your cross examination and in case court will find the satisfactory ground then the court will easily allow you for filling those documents.

Dear concerned,
You can file additional documents at any stage of the proceedings with the leave of the court, but you have to show cause to the satisfaction of the court for the delay in filing the documents at an earlier stage. In order to file additional documents at this stage, you have to file an application under Order 7 rule 14 (3) read with section 151 of the CPC.

under section 138 of NI act can additional documents can be filed before the stage of evidence?

Since the proceedings under the NI Act are criminal in nature and are governed by the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, it is important to bear in mind that Section 311 of the Code grants the power to the court to summon, examine, recall, and re-examine any person as a witness during any stage of an inquiry, trial, or other proceeding under the CrPC. The court can exercise this power if it deems the person's evidence to be essential for a fair and just decision in the case. The purpose of Section 311 CrPC is to ensure that all relevant evidence is presented before the court for a fair trial and just decision-making. The court has the discretionary power to summon, examine, or recall witnesses to achieve this objective. Hence, additional documents can be filed before the stage of evidence.
