Filing Defamation case while divorce case is pending in court

Hi sir
My wifes mother insulted me in public and infront of my parents that am impotent when am not in house. My wife also acknowledged that. My wife accepts that mistake and says that am not impotent in a chat. 1. Can I go for divorce as a cruelty ground? And 2.can I go for defamation case while divorce case is pending in court?
you can go for divorce on the ground of cruelty and you can file a case of defamation in public under section 499 IPC and you can make her punish the same and hence please be advised and consult the advocate with correct nature of facts
