Factory operates near society creating lot of pollution how to stop it

..A factory operates near my society and causes alarming noise pollution. The thing is I've heard neighbors say that the factory has a permit and paperwork for it. Also the factory existed before our society came into existence. Is there any solution for us?

You can first file an RTI to know whether your society is in industrial area or the factory is in residential area.
If the factory is in residential area, then it cannot be allowed to pollute the place and has to be careful about the surroundings.
You can complain to the Pollution Control Board of the state. You can also register a complaint with the police about noise pollution. You can also file a suit to get a stay against polluting activities of the factory!
