Company took money on the pretext of getting a job abroad, what to do

I've been promised 2 get a abroad unskilled job in Canada by a consultancy in Trivandrum(I'm 4m Coimbatore). They called me 1st & said they can get me a unskilled job in Canada, so they charge 4lakh for that, payment will be in 3 installments, 1st need 2 pay 75k then after getting a offer letter 2nd payment of 1.5lakh, final payment should be after getting Visa. So I paid till 2nd payment, that is I paid 2.25lakh (partially cash & online transfer). Reason why I believed them is, they shown a offer letter of other candidate in which there were details of canadian employer like contact phone number,site url, address, so I googled, found that d site is active & I saw d same address, contact details exactly mentioned in offer letter, so I went ahead & paid d amount. Also they gave me a payment recepit for 75k &1.5lakh. But a few days back I checked d site, it says site suspended & no response frm consultancy, so in this case, if they cheat me, what should I do, please guide me.
This is a serious case of job racketing.
File a criminal complaint immediately before the local police station with a copy to the commissioner of police. The racketeers can be charged for criminal breach of trust and fraud.
Taking civil action will definitely prolong the case and you won't get the remedy immediately.
If you are hesitating to file a criminal compliant and looking for amicable negotiation, serve them a legal notice to repay the amount with in a stipulated time, failing which may lead legal consequences.
