Is It Possible To Get Custody Of My 5 Year 9 Month Old Son

I am Hindu. I found my wife is having an affair with someone and is asking me for separation and want to keep son with him. Is it possible to get custody of my son who is 5 years 9 months to me? What are the precautions and necessary steps to be taken. My wife is also working. Need complete details for this issue. Please help.
Since your wife is working you need not worry about maintenance. However, I would need to check all the documents concerning this issue. We need to approach the family court with the child custody petition stating that how ineligible she is for the custody of the child and how the custody of the child is in better hands if given to you.
