Cheque bounce fraud case filing

Query: I have lent 10 lakhs to my friend via stamp paper agreement signed. As per the agreement, the accused has to pay me amount in five installments from Feb to June 2021. He missed first two installments in Feb and March. In the month of April, he gave me a cheque and said orally that he want to clear the entire amount in one go and the cheque will be honoured. But the cheque bounced. On sending legal notice, he replied how can I bounce the cheque for entire amount when has has missed only two installments and 3 installments due. Except signature, all contents are filled by me. His lawyer replied that there is no legal laibality of 10 LACS at the time of presenting cheque. What happens if I file cheque bounce case? Will it stand. Please help me with your advice to come out of stress.
