I am a travel agent. One of my client had given me an amount of 120000 for a holiday trip... As agent I had tied up with different agent and paid him, unfortunately the trip got cancelled.. And the person whom I had given money is absconding.. My client has collected the 4 blank cheques and bounced two cheques of 120000 each, it's 4 months now and now my client had booked a police officer and telling to clear up right now or will file a FIR of cheque bounce case against me.and I am receiving calls from local police station to meet and they have filled a complaint against me. Can someone tell me the procedure I should follow..should I visit the police station or not.Or should I go with lawyer to police station..

Police has no duty to enquire or Investigate in a cheque bounce case. Hence never go to a police station as their will be threat to arrest you. Approach a lawyer as he would be right person to direct you. Those 4 blank cheques were given by you or your agent?

Dear Sir,
If you can then approach the police and tell the entire episode. Otherwise get anticipatory bail and fight the case legally and also file counter case if possible. Please take guidance of experienced advocate since your written submissions would be binding on you in future litigations.
