Sir I have a savings bank account in state bank of india's pune branch withn ac no.xxxx1234 & I'm a resident of pune but due some work I was in mumbai,I had a cheque given to me by my client,which I deposited in state bank of india's mumbai branch in my ac no.xxxx1234,the cheque got bounced the very next day due to insufficient funds ,I collected the the cheque & return memo from state bank of india's mumbai branch,now I will Sent a legal notice to repay via a advocate,but for the above incident which jurisdiction will apply?mumbai jurisdiction or pune jurisdiction?
Yes definitely you have to issue legal notice to opposite party within 30 days from the day when you had received memo from the bank. Only you can file case where drawers bank or drawee's bank account get operated
If your account and the person who had given cheque to are from Mumbai, then Mumbai court is having jurisdiction.
If your account and the person who had given cheque to are from Mumbai, then Mumbai court is having jurisdiction.
