Cheque against flat buy buyer and delay of payment

I sold my flat and buyer had given me postdated cheques at Deed time 15th Oct 2020 was the date but now he is saying money is not ready and requested to submit the cheques after one week 1. can I give him time 2. If I will not submit the cheques on given time any legal issues will be there

Please keep all correspondence with the buyer on email or msgs.

Later if cheque bounces, u can issue a legal notice.
