Remedy as loan availed from bank repaid but NOC not received yet

My father has availed a loan of 1,6lak frm j&k bank in 2003 and payed it ... frequently asked for NOC but dey delayed and even deduction from bank account stopped so my father kept quiet ....and now after 15 years v have got a notice from bank tht v hv to pay 1lahk 6 k with interest and threatening tht it vil b put to cibil nd newspaper ...v r just wondering what's happening ...kindly do needful for helping with suggestion

1. Unless the loan totally closed by the bank with entire outstanding paid, the NOC would not be issued.

2. Already the cibil should be having your father's data as negative, as its automated process by the banking system to report about non-payment of customers.

3. You can send legal notice to bank to issue NOC, In case any partial / complete settlement was paid by then.

If you have paid up all the dues then issue a notice to the bank demanding the NOC. If they fail to follow the directive then you can go to the consumer forum seeking remedy to obtain NOC as well as seek compensation for mental agony.

Please maintain proper documents of amount paid to bank and personally Visit to bank and have an evidence , if they don’t agree then we can file a case against the bank so that they should return the amount with interest and can sue defamation case also
