My husband has closed one joint account with me without my consent. He forged my sign. I haven't informed him yet that i have come to know since i want to use this as a tool to sue him . I am apprehending divorce filing by him. Please suggest to sue him what all shouldbe in my hands and what punishment can he get if he is a govt employee. What will be banks position in case i file case and bank declares forgery.

You will have to file an FIR under the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and plead forgery. Also, has your husband miss appropriated funds in the bank account? There are various other issues to be seen before i answer your other query.

Query perused. I would advise you to file a complaint before the concerned Police Station regarding forgery being committed by your husband and ask for lodging an FIR. In case the police doesn't cooperate, we would advise you to file a an application under section 156 (3) in the court seeking directions for registering an FIR.
