How to stop paying personal Emi for 6or 12 months due to jobless

I have taken loan of Rs 5 lakhs and I was paying emi regularly but now I am jobless ,so I can't repay the loan I need some time 6 months or 1 year ,because of this my health condition is spoiled ,can u plz help me how can I stop paying emi 6 0r 12 months
1. Issue legal notice to banker stating that you do not have job and you need stipulated time to repay the debt.
2. Banker may get back to you with one of the option of one time settlement, EMI payment option ... etc.,
3. Based on the reply from banker, you may decide further course of action.
