How to deal with harassment by bank

28-May-2023 (In Banking / Finance Law)
My father had my name as a nominee in 1998, changed in 2007 and then changed again to my name a few months later in 2007. Bank has not cut earlier name and says there are two nominees in my father's a/c. now I am facing problems as the bank is not ready to give the money of my father's a/c (deceased). Clearly, this is bank's fault but I am facing problems since 4 years. Making me run from office to office.

First make sure that the Bank has all the nominee forms in its record or you have something show in your possession that reflect the changes.
You can always write to the higher authorities at the bank for redressal. Also, you may seek a declaration from court in this regard. In case there is a will left by your father, that may also impact the bank account.

Sir,
As per the Right to information act 2005. The bank is liable to give the answer of your question . If the bank did not provide that, then you can ask them in a written by paying a nominal amount for that query. Now bank is liable to revert it with in 30 days of the submission of the application.
As i concerned your problem you need to take your RASHAN CARD proving them that there is no such other member besides you to have a right on the amount of your father account. You need to submit your adhar card with your father death certificate to prove that, you are the only person who are authenticated for this amount.

Just assemble these document make a scan copy of that documents upload them on a consumer grievances site and receive a complain number from the consumer site. After that take a form of RTI from the bank attach all the documents of your proof with consumer complain no. and submit it to your base branch and send another copy to the head office of the BANK .
I can commit that it would make the pressure on the banks and your money would be get refunded from your father account.

Bank will go as per the papers on record. If you have anything to show which counters the bank's version then you have a argument. I would advise you to get all the papers ready and visit your bank manager.
