Cheque Transaction details wrongly updated in the statement

Hi , let me explain in short , I have issued a cheque to an individual , surprisingly the cheque transation was incorrectly reflecting in the Bank statement as it was incorrectly updated by bank official, may be intentional not sure , It was a cheque of 11,40,000 issued to some one , account statement shows as transferred to " My name " instead of other individual name . I got in to position Where I had to file a case againist the individual where Account statement has rntpcombortance , I could manage get a letter from the bank that clarifies about the mistake done by bank officials. but I want to file a case against ICICI bank as they have incorrectly updated the Bank statement with mypersons name for a Cheque transaction Please suggest what is the best way to proceed to file case, is that Consumer forum/court that I have to go to and what will be the expenditure and can I really suie bank for their mistake and ask them to pay a bigger price for their mistake.
