Advocate Deepak Mehra undertakes cases in the Ontario Small Claims Court arena. He assists individuals, small businesses, corporations, finance companies and insurance companies pursue the recovery of money owing to them.

Advocate Deepak has all the necessary tools, knowledge and resources to properly and professionally represent his clients. He can also assist with the legal process from beginning to end, or just a portion of the process, depending on the needs of the client.

He is different than traditional law firms because he can assist clients with the collection of their debts and receivables, as well as contract disputes, at competitive rates and alternative fee structures. The hourly rates that are charged by law firms usually don’t justify using their services to collect a debt through the Small Claims Court.

Prior to taking any action on the clients file, he makes a legal assessment to determine if the matter should in fact proceed legally. Sometimes legal action is not the proper or most cost effective recourse. He then provides his clients with his recommendation on how to move forward. If legal action is determined to be an effective recourse, he follows a strict process. The process starts with a demand letter and verbal contact with the debtor or opposing party. He always tries to resolve the matter prior to proceeding with legal action. If the debt cannot be collected or the dispute cannot be resolved, he prepares and processes a claim against the debtor and follow the matter through to judgment, including attendance at settlement conferences and trials if required. Once judgment is received the hard part begins – collecting the money. He has an extensive experience in locating assets and being able to collect debts post judgment by way of garnishment, writs and examinations.
