Advocate Arpit Batra

Since July 2008, Advocate Arpit Batra worked as a Defence Attorney at The District Courts , New Delhi. He was appointed as Amicus Curiae (Friend of Court) in more than ten cases by the court. He regularly assisted the courts as Amicus Curie in handling cases including those of Murder, Culpable Homicide, Grievous hurt, Narcotics, Robbery, etc. He has also privately handled a variety of problems such as those of Bails in Bailable & Non-Bailable offences, release of properties seized by the investigating authorities, investigation and treatment of the accused in the custody of police, juvenile delinquency and reform of the child offenders, cyber offences like Hacking, Phising etc, NDPS (Narcotic Drugs Offences), Dishonour of cheques, exploitation, sexual harassment and all other offences against women, arrest of the foreign nationals / citizens in India as well as arrest of the Indian citizens in foreign countries if the alleged offence is taken place in India, offences of arrest by Airport authorities/Customs/Police for the duplication or counterfeit of passport, visa etc or of those of illegal immigrants, Domestic Violence, Maintenance Suits, harassment for dowry, suicide, dowry death etc. He has experience of handling cases at all the stages of a trial like Arguments on Charge, Examination in Chief, Cross-examinations, Statement of Accused, Final arguments, Sentence Hearing, Provisional Release/ Bails, other interim applications.

In the year 2010, Arpit Batra went to United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Center, Torio, Italy for pursuing a Masters Degree in International Crime. During the Course of study he had participated in various Seminars, Conferences etc at the University of Torino, Italy; Tulane Law Schoo; Hague Conference on Private International Law and Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Hague. He visited the International Criminal Court and the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia to follow the Trials being held in these courts.

Advocate Arpit enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi in 2008. He is a member of the Delhi High Court Bar Association.
