Which Document will prove loan is given to friend

Which is the valid prof for helping friends help. Actually i will give some money by cheque to my friend without interest for 45 days. But for security which document is valid for prof. Is the notary on 500 with 2 witness is valid? Or which other document is valid
For this you will have to specifically make a loan agreement and get it duly registered because if in future if ur friend does not vouch for his promise to pay then it would be very difficult to recover the same as the could not be proved
