Unregistered will. How to proceed ?

29-Apr-2023 (In Wills / Trusts Law)
I am a Hindu ... My father passed away 6 months back & left a will bequeathing all immovable & movables on my name. When approached Municipal authorities for transfer of name they are asking for a registered will. Please advise.

Hi
Any WILL should be validated in a court of law either through Probate or by requesting for letter of administration by the court.
So the municipal authorities are legally wrong in asking for a registered will.
So, please approach the court in which the properties are located and get the WILL validated in the court.
Subsequent to validation of the WILL, you will be granted ownership and title of the properties bequeathed to you by your father through the WILL.
