Succession certificate. Please tell me how to proceed ?

01-May-2023 (In Wills / Trusts Law)
My parents expired in 2014-15 without any will. We are 3 siblings and with everyone's consent I want to get a succession certificate. I am told that I will need two separate succession certificates for both deceased. Is that the case or can it be done on a single certificate? The assets are held jointly by my parents.

since your parents have died intestate then u will have to obtain a letter of admnistration from the Hon'ble High Court for administration of the property and on obtaining the same you can transfer the property .

Yes. The law of land is settled to those terms very much in detail. You'll have to apply for two succession Certificates, respectively for your respective parents.

As you say that your siblings are comfortable with the same, then the process can be done within a span of 6 months.

Best..
