can the executor of a will ask for the transmission of shares in his name? In the will, he is declared as the executor and was asked to form a trust of all the properties of his father. Now he is asking for the transmission of shares in his name. can we do that? do we have any legal provision related to it?

Whether the Executor is also a Nominee? If he is a Nominee then shares can be transferred in his name with an endorsement stating as Nominee. If he is not a Nominee, then First the Will needs to be Probated and then only on the basis of probate the shares to be transmitted accordingly. Executor is just an administrator of the Will (or may be called as personal representative)
