Can a government servant become a trustee in private trust?

can Govt. servant be a trustee in pvt. trusts? what is the procedure to do so?

Yes, any person above the age of 18 and of sound mind can be trustee in a private trust. You will need to be a party to the trust deed to be appointed as a trustee. The settlor of the trust and the other trustee must consent to this as provided for in the trust deed, if the deed has already been executed. If the trust is yet to be created then you are only requried to be a party to the trust deed. It should be stated in the deed that you will be a trustee and in what capacity. Proper stamp duty should be paid and the deed should be duly registered. There are no further requirements. Feel free to get in touch if we could be of any further assistance to you.
