Co. will reimburse amount paid for laptop. Is this amount taxable?

Hello friends, I am working as a consultant for a company. They asked me to buy a laptop and they said they will reimburse the amount. However, I don't know if the reimbursed amount is taxable. The laptop is pretty expensive. They wrote me an LP cheque for my first month's salary including the expense. Can someone help me? What is an LP cheque? Thanks
