Affidavit submitted to Supreme Court in matter related to Unitech

22-Sep-2023 (In Supreme Court Law)
As per the honorable Supreme Court of India's directive, I need to submit information in the "Claim Submission Portal for Unitech Buyers" for filing claim against Unitech builders. One of the document required is an attested affidavit (in RS 10 stamp paper) stating whether I want a refund or flat possession. I am currently in USA and don't have access to stamp paper. If I submit an affidavit on plain paper attested by Consulate of India, will it me considered valid for this purpose?

I have gone through your query.

As i am already representing 5 buyers in the connected matter. I would suggest you that it is a very sensitive matter don't take it lightly as even a single mistake will lead you nowhere. Contact me for further information personally before filing your affidavit.

There are 2 options.
1. You can sign power of attorney in somebody's favour who is in India and he will submit the required affidavit on you behalf.
Or
2. There are places in USA where you can get stamp paper or ask someone in India to courier you the stamp paper which you can get attested in USA.

Dear Sir attestation by consulate of india will not work in supreme court of India. However you can send special power of attorney in favour of a person in india and he can sign and get attested the said affidavit for filing in the supreme court of India.

Thank you for your question. Yes you can submit an affidavit duly attested by Consulate of India but the affidavit also needs to be notarised.
Get the affidavit notarised first from notary public there in US and there after get it attested from the Consulate of India.
In case of any further clarifications, feel free to write again.
Thanks
