What would happen if developer used or gave my website code to someone

I have haired a developer to develop a website, now we have completed development and received invoice from developer. But issue is I am not aware of script he has used ,he might have copied from others or he may give same scripts to other . How to avoid any dispute in future. In invoice he has only mentioned development of website. Please help me please
You can get your website registered by taking copyright and Trademark. In future whoever tends to copy your website, you can file a suit for infringement.
