Procedure for Local Self Body Registration

I am about to start my advertising agency in this December. I would like to know the following details. is it necessary for an ad agency or any company to get registered with the local self bodies? ( Municipalities or corporations) . Is it mandatory? is Local self body registration Is necessary to get a current account? If I register my agency as a pvt ltd company, still I need municipal registration?
Registering a company or business concern in local body is important. If it is a proprietorship then for starting a bank account and other legal formalities need a copy of license. So better you have to register your firm in local body . But if you have a pvt.ltd company there is no license need to start an account .Even though registering the office at local body will help you in your future needs
