Is it compulsory to register as company before launching website?

The person will be sole owner, he himself will handle the website. Person is already a employee of MNC company, but can launch his website (answered in last question). He will invest little bit and start website, it will generate revenue maybe after few months through ads, till then, no earning. Still, is it compulsory to register as a company before launching the website? If yes, then what registration will be needed, as the website will be owned by just one person.
