Can i file RTI to know in whose name property is registered

25-Jun-2023 (In R.T.I Law)
We have parental house in pitampur, delhi. Father in law expired, mother in law & 3 son (1 expired but his son & wife alive). Can I (daughter in law) file RTI to know whose name is that house, as my husband is not doing anything. Is that RTI is secret? What is procedure, fee, where to go to file. Within how many days I will get reply of RTI? We are Hindu family.

Yes you can do so by applying to the concerned state public information officer. The application should be accompanied with Rs 10 money order or Demand draft. The reply to your application should reach you within 30 days incase it doesn't reach, you can file an appeal

You can hire a lawyer who can inspect records in the registry and check under whose name is the property registered.
This will be a secret.
An RTI, although can be filed, is not a secret. Procedure to file an RTI is simple. One application is to be sent. The authority has to reply in 30 days.
