Person is making illegitimate claim what defense can I take?

02-Feb-2023 (In Recovery Law)

A person says that there is money due to be paid to him. However, it is completely illegitimate claim and he has no documentary proof showing that the money was due. On the fact of it itself, it makes the claim which will not get honored (or it can be claimed?). However, if the person makes the mention of the same in his legal will, does it change the situation? Will it become legitimate, can he claim the same? What is the remedy available to the person, from whom money is being claimed? It would be of great help. Will be more than happy to provide any additional information.

The onus is always on the person making the claim and proper evidence would have to be given before the court. If that person or any of his relatives state that such and such amount is owed by you, it would make no difference, as it would still not prove that amounts are owed by you.
