How can a father recover money from his son

28-Oct-2023 (In Recovery Law)
My friend's father had given 20 lacks to one of his son 5 years back. He now is asking his son to return money but the son is denying. Is there any way my friend's father can recover given money legally from his son by lodging FIR or registering complain in family court? What all actions can be taken against the son? Pls advise.

Was any documentation done before this loan amount was given by the father to son ? Even if not, how can the father prove that he actually remitted a sum of rs. 20 lacs to his son? Will he be able to prove this though his bank statement? If yes, the ask him to send a legal notice through a lawyer to his son and if that is insufficient to redress his grievance, he should file a civil suit for recovery.

Was there any agreement between the father and son regarding the amount of money given by the father to his son? As in whether there was any condition to return the money. Otherwise the only recourse available to the father is to file a civil suit for recovery of money, stating the reasons for the same.
