Credit card dues in UAE bank agents harassing me

I lost my jpb in the uae anf i had a credit card after i came back to india i couldnt pay the amount, its not that i dnt want to pay, i am asking them to do a settlement for which they are not agreeing, now i started get harrasment calls saying they are frok cbi and all i checked and came to know its fake calls. I want to hire a lawyer so that i vet some good advise

The Hon'ble Supreme Court, in one of its judgments, has come down heavily on the illegal and arm twisting methods adopted by the banks and financial institutions for recovery of their dues. The bank/credit card issuing institution is allowed only to take appropriate legal steps towards recovery and no illegal methods can be resorted to. Thus, if you are getting threatening calls, you can immediately approach the police authorities and file complaint against the recovery agents. Pls. note that, you can not force the card company to settle the matter on your terms.
