Am I or my mother liable to pay father's debts after his death

16-Jun-2023 (In Recovery Law)
Hi ...I require a legal advise please. My father has died 3 years back and before his death he had taken a personal loan with a bank and this loan was taken at least 5 years before his death which he was not able to pay. Now, my question is whether there is any legal implication on Me or my mother to repay the loan that my father took from the bank. And, if any banks representative/collection agent from the bank tries to humiliate me or my mother by saying any inappropriate words or threaten my family members can i take a legal action against them for mental harassment.

Please specify whether any claim has been laid down by the bank so far or not? Has any case been filed? Civil or criminal? Civil case is supposed to be filed within three years, otherwise it will be time barred.
Recovery through civil action is always possible, but there is no criminal liability. Secondly, in no case, even if they get a decree passed in their favor, can a bank agent / representative humiliate or threaten you. If they do so, you should immediately call 100, and of course, legal action can be taken.
