Whether my sisters can claim share in my father's property?

Dear sir, my father expired on 1 march, 1997 and my mother expired on 27 January, 2014. I have 4 younger sisters and all are married. Now they want to file a case for share in my father's property. Whether they will succeed? Kindly answer..

It is to be seen whether the property was self acquired or ancestral? If there is any will left behind or not? However, in view of recent Supreme Court judgment of Prakash & Ors. v. Phulvati & Ors., they cannot

In case your father has written any WILL in your favour then it ois your property. If there is no WILL in your favour, then it has to be divided in all brothers and sisters. Please check up all the papers carefully and then contact us.

As per law, after 2005 your sister has a right to claim share in the property provided that she must have been married after 2005 meaning thereby after the enforcement if that law. But if she has been married earlier, she can not claim the property.
